The Dynatronics, Chakra Shakers, Dale. BOBI gig 27, Blackfriars Revue Bar, Boston.

Hailing from Nottingham, Dale are the only grind band I’ve seen do press-ups mid set! But their sound was big (the venue’s sound was exceptional – especially when there was such a small crowd) and the backing tracks really lifted them to another level. Lyrically, they seem to like wrestling and fitness. Musically, I liked them a lot.

I also really enjoyed Chakra Shakes. Another Nottingham band. They preferred the rock ‘n’ roll style of punk with catchy choruses and a large dose of swagger. A well-travelled outfit with plenty of stories, the male/female vocals complimented each other perfectly.

The Dynatronics are from Maidenhead and have a huge sound with keyboards and dual guitars. They offer a more old school, accessible brand of indie rock with big choruses and harmonies aplenty. They certainly have the song-writing ability to lift them above the rest of the pack too.
