BOBI 20. Final BOBI gig of 2025 and we were back at Ellenders whilst Boston United were playing away at Yeovil.

JACK STEPHENSON AND (some of) THE BAND opened up the show with a fine slice of Lincolnshire flavoured Alt-Country/Americana. Missing a drummer for the night, Jack and his compadres impressed all with the sort of thing that fans of our good mate Matthew Aylett would love.

In stark contrast, TYPE FORTY followed, again, without a drummer, but this time with synths and drum machine backing giving the "miserable songs you can dance to" a very strong early 80s ambience. Ultravox? New Order? Electronic? OMD? It had a bit of all of that and was highly entertaining.

Ramping the volume up considerably were Lincoln rascals DUST BUNNIES who appeared to be three quarters of the last Post Mortem line up, but with a very different sound. A Punk-Funk-Grunge-Rock type affair that took us back to the days of Student Union, pound-a-pint, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers rumpus. Rowdy!

Topping the bill we had a fantastic set from Lincoln's Post Hardcore trio BAT FLATTERY and they were proper fabulous. hard, gritty, intense and yes, as we've said before somewhat awkward. Constantly evolving, the Bat Flatterers are always a great watch and tonight was no different. That's it then for 2025! See you in the new year!
